We take pleasure in welcoming you to a paradise, a peaceful setting on 34 acres of woodlands where nature never sleeps; with boutique bed & breakfast accommodation, located 15 minutes out of Stratford . Every season has its own story to tell and when night welcomes the day, you step into a private little paradise of beautiful plants, flowers and trees. The huge variety of birds in song invite you to relax, and let Mother Nature work her magic on your tired soul. Our woodland picnic spots are perfect for a little escape from the daily stress and our beautiful gardens are the perfect wedding venue for the nature lover.

Accomodation

Te POPO Gardens and Accommodation intend to provide a year-round retreat for our guests to enjoy the many splendours of the beautiful Mount Egmont and the Taranaki region. Each guest will be treated with the kind of attention that is reserved for family. On arrival we want our guests to step into a trouble free world of unforgettable rest and peace, where the sound of the city is replaced with the sound of birds and flowing water.

As we are a rural retreat located 15 minutes out of Stratford we have NO mobile phone reception, however we do provide Free unlimited WiFi in all accommodation rooms. A cooked breakfast can be purchased, for options please discuss with your host at check-in. You may choose to eat in our special guest dining room or have it served in the privacy of your room upon request. We also offer evening meals (must be arrange at time of booking) and have an onsite café with cold drinks, ice creams etc.

A paradise and peaceful setting on 34 acres of woodlands where nature never sleeps; and boutique bed & breakfast accommodation located 15 minutes out of Stratford. Every season has its own story to tell and when night welcomes the day, you step into a private paradise.

Te Popo’s owners are very happy to be caring for Taranaki’s pre-eminent woodland garden. Rainforest and deep river gorges encircle acres of exotic and coniferous trees. Te Popo is richly under planted with many rare and beautiful shrubs, bulbs and flowers to complement the shady and sun-filled borders and dell. Ponds, waterfall, fern gully plus a 30m suspension bridge also feature. Circle walk this special place filled with birdsong.

If you are a guest visiting during the evening or twilight hours be sure to visit our gorgeous glow worms. Situated on a gorge bank not far from our accommodation and assured to brighten your garden stroll or romantic walk to the river.
